I had the priviledge to attend and also to speak at Shopware Community Day 2024 (Tech Day). I will share my personal experience about this in-cre-di-ble event.
As you probably know, I'm located in Brazil 🇧🇷 I had to cross the Atlantic ocean to be in Duisburg, Germany 🇩🇪 It was a total of 32 hours to commute, due to challenging flight connections. No worries, it was worthy the time!
Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord - Oh, I had never ever thought to be in a tech event around an industrial facility. It used to be a massive coal and steel production plant.
One of the greatest things about big gatherings is that we can meet a lot of people in person. Nothing better than connect with old friends and make new ones. It's a unique experience to talk with people that I see every day online. The same people that answer questions on Slack, write helpful blogposts, and are behind the store.shopware.com plugins.
Shopware background is mostly German-based. But over the recent years it has changed. English has been adopted as the only language for all sessions, something very different from 5 years ago, let's say. I saw many people from different countries. I'm eager to see what future will bring in terms of global expansion. I'm more than sure they are doing the right attitude: Shopware is widely open to the global community.

I get super excited whenever I'm surrounded by people that are open-minded, that enjoy sharing knowledge openly, and understand that mutual collaboration is a win-win game.
That being said, I had the opportunity to call our community to reflect upon the importance that each and every one of us have for building such vibrant community. We definitely need each other. If we deeply understand that, we will build together a healthy competition among agencies, partners, and developers where we all grow together!

After a full day of talks, technical conversations, and networking, it is always good to have some time to celebrate the Shopware achievements as a community.
What a great experience indeed! For those part of the Shopware ecosystem, please, make sure you come in the next year! This is the greatest conference you can visit in the Shopware world. Let me say it once again: it pays off!
